Latinas Leading

Our Core Values
Research-based: The scientific method guides our processes. This means psychological, career, and leadership science informs our practice. We use peer-reviewed articles and well-supported theories to design our services from start to finish. We test our own assumptions, as evidenced by conducting our own empirical research with the diverse populations we strive to serve.
Culturally Humble: Culturally humble services include being other-oriented and open to culturally diverse identities (see Hook et al., 2017). Latinas Leading views collaborating with culturally diverse populations as an ongoing process of learning, listening, and understanding. We also view cultural humility as a process of acknowledging our own personal bias, power, privilege, and lived experiences. We seek to continuously understand and address the idiosyncratic roles of power, privilege, and oppression in people’s careers and lives.
People Focused: Our clients and leaders are humans first and foremost to us. We aim to view people as complex beings that we are called to collaborate with as partners. We develop meaningful yet ethical relationships with each of our clients, small or large.
Actionable: We are results-driven, and focused on meeting performance indicators identified by our clients. Although our work has intangibles, our outcomes and results are measurable.

Meet Our Founder

Dr. Campos
Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida
Dr. Campos was inspired by her parents–both of whom immigrated to the United States from the Republic of Panama–to humbly serve underrepresented individuals. Through witnessing her family’s various hardships and resilience, Dr. Campos recognized the power of remaining connected to one’s cultural identities, purpose, and unity to all. With support from her family and professional mentors, she obtained a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida, a scientist-practitioner program emphasizing social justice.
In addition to 11 years of practice experience as a leadership development consultant and psychologist, Dr. Campos has published peer-reviewed journal articles using the scientific method to understand culturally diverse individuals’ mental health concerns and well-being. Dr. Campos was trained in doctoral-level statistical analytics and qualitative analyses, which guide her processes and recommendations. She has also designed, developed, and implemented consulting programs, particularly in the areas of high-performing leadership and inclusive leadership. Her services are guided by social psychology, neuropsychology, positive psychology, counseling psychology, and leadership development published research. Among other community honors, she was a 2022 recipient of the “Top 40 Under 40” award at the Tampa Club, and she has served on local boards and committees (e.g., Tampa Gator Club and American College of Healthcare Executives, respectively). Dr. Campos is regularly featured as a subject matter expert in media, including on Bloom TV (https://www.wfla.com/bloom/building-skills-to-manage-burnout/) and psychologytoday.com (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/contributors/irma-campos-phd).
As a resource for leaders and professionals, Dr. Campos seeks to assist individuals in understanding their unique assets, developmental areas, contextual factors, and team and organizational cultures to attain higher levels of performance and engagement. Through her coaching process, she works with each leader to amplify their true purpose, and subsequently, set in motion a series of strategic actions leading to clearly defined and imperative outcomes. In collaborating with leaders, Dr. Campos generates a professional partnership rooted in a growth mindset and actionable efforts. Prior to serving as President of her businesses, she was employed at a leadership development consulting firm, university counseling centers, and career resource centers.
Dr. Campos is bilingual in English and Spanish, and she proudly identifies as bicultural (Panamanian American). She enjoys traveling to her family’s country of origin (Panama).
